How? We’ve teamed up with ATF Remapping to offer an advanced ECU remapping service in Brisbane and surrounding areas. Also known as engine tuning, diesel tuning, ECU tuning or ECU programming, remapping involves reprogramming your vehicle’s engine control unit (ECU) to enhance the performance characteristics of your vehicle.
That means more power, more torque and in most cases, better fuel economy. But that’s not all our remapping services are about. We’re offering individual, specific tunes that refine all aspects of your vehicle’s engine performance parameters to deliver a driving experience that’s right for you. Whether it’s performance driving, trade vehicle or your everyday commuter.
So how does this work? First a bit of background. The ECU is a small computer that collects information from various sensors and actuators on the vehicle. These include driver inputs like accelerator pedal position, atmospheric conditions like air temperature and barometric pressure, engine condition parameters such as coolant temperature, and engine performance characteristics like intake air flow, intake manifold pressure and exhaust gas oxygen saturation. The ECU then compares this information to preprogrammed tables or maps to make adjustment to the various components that control engine performance. Depending on the type of engine these can include throttle position, ignition timing, fuel delivery, camshaft timing, injector timing (for diesel and direct injection petrol engines) and turbocharger boost. As the name suggests, remapping involves making changes to the ECU’s preprogrammed tables to enhance your engine’s performance characteristics.
Remapping also allow us to produce special effects on some engines. As an optional extra we can include pop and bang sound effects for petrol engines, where you get that race car crackle during gear changes. Or popcorn effects for diesel engines. We can also offer two stage anti-lag and other customized changes.
